RESUMO

This Review presents an overview of all-organic nanocomposites, a sustainable alternative to organic-inorganic hybrids. All-organic nanocomposites contain nanocellulose, nanochitin, and aramid nanofibers as highly rigid reinforcing fillers. They offer superior mechanical properties and lightweight characteristics suitable for diverse applications. The Review discusses various methods for preparing the organic nanofillers, including top-down and bottom-up approaches. It highlights in situ polymerization as the preferred method for incorporating these nanomaterials into polymer matrices to achieve homogeneous filler dispersion, a crucial factor for realizing desired performance. Furthermore, the Review explores several applications of all-organic nanocomposites in diverse fields including food packaging, performance-advantaged plastics, and electronic materials. Future research directions-developing sustainable production methods, expanding biomedical applications, and enhancing resistance against heat, chemicals, and radiation of all-organic nanocomposites to permit their use in extreme environments-are explored. This Review offers insights into the potential of all-organic nanocomposites to drive sustainable growth while meeting the demand for high-performance materials across various industries.

Biodegradable plastics have gained popularity as environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional petroleum-based plastics, which face recycling and degradation challenges. Although the biodegradability of these plastics has been established, research on their ecotoxicity remains limited. Biodegradable plastics may still contain conventional additives, including toxic and non-degradable substances, to maintain their functionality during production and processing. Despite degrading the polymer matrix, these additives can persist in the environment and potentially harm ecosystems and humans. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the potential ecotoxicity of biodegradable plastics by analyzing the phthalate esters (PAEs) leaching out from biodegradable plastics through soil leachate. Sixteen commercial biodegradable plastic products were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to determine the types and amounts of PAE used in the products and evaluate their ecotoxicity. Among the various PAEs analyzed, non-regulated dioctyl isophthalate (DOIP) was the most frequently detected (ranging from 40 to 212 µg g-1). Although the DOIP is considered one of PAE alternatives, the detected amount of it revealed evident ecotoxicity, especially in the aquatic environment. Other additives, including antioxidants, lubricants, surfactants, slip agents, and adhesives, were also qualitatively detected in commercial products. This is the first study to quantify the amounts of PAEs leached from biodegradable plastics through water mimicking PAE leaching out from biodegradable plastics to soil leachate when landfilled and evaluate their potential ecotoxicity. Despite their potential toxicity, commercial biodegradable plastics are currently marketed and promoted as environmentally friendly materials, which could lead to indiscriminate public consumption. Therefore, in addition to improving biodegradable plastics, developing eco-friendly additives is significant. Future studies should investigate the leaching kinetics in soil leachate over time and toxicity of biodegradable plastics after landfill disposal.

Background: Recent interest has surged in the locus coeruleus (LC) for its early involvement in Alzheimer's disease (AD), notably concerning the apolipoprotein ɛ4 allele (APOE4). Objective: This study aimed to discern LC functional connectivity (FC) variations in preclinical AD subjects, dissecting the roles of APOE4 carrier status and amyloid-ß (Aß) deposition. Methods: A cohort of 112 cognitively intact individuals, all Aß-positive, split into 70 APOE4 noncarriers and 42 carriers, underwent functional MRI scans, neuropsychological assessments, and APOE genotyping. The research utilized seed to voxel analysis for illustrating LC rsFC discrepancies between APOE4 statuses and employed a general linear model to examine the interactive influence of APOE4 carrier status and Aß deposition on LC FC values. Results: The investigation revealed no significant differences in sex, age, or SUVR between APOE4 carriers and noncarriers. It found diminished LC FC with the occipital cortex in APOE4 carriers and identified a significant interaction between APOE4 carrier status and temporal lobe SUVR in LC FC with the occipital cortex. This interaction suggested a proportional increase in LC FC for APOE4 carriers. Additional notable interactions were observed affecting LC FC with various brain regions, indicating a proportional decrease in LC FC for APOE4 carriers. Conclusions: These findings confirm that APOE4 carrier status significantly influences LC FC in preclinical AD, showcasing an intricate relationship with regional Aß deposition. This underscores the critical role of genetic and pathological factors in early AD pathophysiology, offering insights into potential biomarkers for early detection and intervention strategies.

BACKGROUND: Ustekinumab is a safe and effective treatment for moderate-to-severe psoriasis. OBJECTIVES: To compare efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and immunogenicity of the proposed ustekinumab biosimilar SB17 with reference ustekinumab (UST) in subjects with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. METHODS: In this randomized double-blind study, subjects were randomized to receive 45 mg of SB17 or UST subcutaneously at Week 0, 4, and every 12 weeks. The primary endpoint was the percent change from baseline in Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) at Week 12 with an equivalence margin of [-15%, 15%]. Other secondary efficacy, safety, PK, and immunogenicity endpoints were measured through Week 28. RESULTS: 249 subjects were randomized to SB17, 254 to UST. Adjusted difference of PASI change from baseline at Week 12 of -0.6% (95% confidence interval [CI; -3.780, 2.579]) was within the equivalence margin. Physician's Global Assessment (PGA) and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) were also comparable. Overall treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) were comparable (SB17: 48.2%, UST: 48.8%). The overall incidence of anti-drug antibodies (ADAs) up to Week 28 was 13.3% with SB17 and 39.4% with UST. LIMITATIONS: Data were only through Week 28. CONCLUSION: SB17 was clinically biosimilar to UST up to Week 28.

This study examined the impact of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) on the occurrence of various cancers in postmenopausal women with de novo or a history of endometriosis. In the datasets for ten cancers (cervical, uterine, ovarian, breast, colon, gastric, liver, lung, pancreatic, and thyroid), women who received HRT (the HRT group) and those who did not (the control group) were selected by a 1:1 matching with those who met the study criteria. In the dataset for each cancer, the incidence of each cancer was very low (0.2% to 1.5% in the HRT group and 0.2% to 1.3% in the control group). The duration of HRT was 1.3 ± 2.1 years. After adjusting for co-variables, HRT was a significant risk factor for uterine cancer (p < 0.05). However, the risk of liver cancer decreased significantly with duration of HRT (p < 0.05). Moreover, combined estrogen and progesterone decreased the risks of liver and thyroid cancers significantly (p < 0.05), and estrogen alone decreased the risks of breast and lung cancers significantly (p < 0.05). Tibolone was not associated with the risk of any of the cancers assessed. These results can help guide the use of HRT in women with de novo or a history of endometriosis.

The structure-property paradox of biological tissues, in which water-rich porous structures efficiently transfer mass while remaining highly mechanically stiff, remains unsolved. Although hydrogel/sponge hybridization is the key to understanding this phenomenon, material incompatibility makes this a challenging task. Here we describe hydrogel/sponge hybrids (hydrospongels) that behave as both ultrastiff water-rich gels and reversibly squeezable sponges. The self-organizing network of cyano-p-aramid nanofibres holds approximately 5,000 times more water than its solid content. Hydrospongels, even at a water concentration exceeding 90 wt%, are hard as cartilage with an elastic modulus of 50-80 MPa, and are 10-1,000 times stiffer than typical hydrogels. They endure a compressive strain above 85% through poroelastic relaxation and hydrothermal pressure at 120 °C. This performance is produced by amphiphilic surfaces, high rigidity and an interfibrillar, interaction-driven percolating network of nanofibres. These features can inspire the development of future biofunctional materials.

Emulating synaptic functionalities in optoelectronic devices is significant in developing artificial visual-perception systems and neuromorphic photonic computing. Persistent photoconductivity (PPC) in metal oxides provides a facile way to realize the optoelectronic synaptic devices, but the PPC performance is often limited due to the oxygen vacancy defects that release excess conduction electrons without external stimuli. Herein, a high-performance optoelectronic synapse based on the stoichiometry-controlled LaAlO3 /SrTiO3 (LAO/STO) heterostructure is developed. By increasing La/Al ratio up to 1.057:1, the PPC is effectively enhanced but suppressed the background conductivity at the LAO/STO interface, achieving strong synaptic behaviors. The spectral noise analyses reveal that the synaptic behaviors are attributed to the cation-related point defects and their charge compensation mechanism near the LAO/STO interface. The short-term and long-term plasticity is demonstrated, including the paired-pulse facilitation, in the La-rich LAO/STO device upon exposure to UV light pulses. As proof of concepts, two essential synaptic functionalities, the pulse-number-dependent plasticity and the self-noise cancellation, are emulated using the 5 × 5 array of La-rich LAO/STO synapses. Beyond the typical oxygen deficiency control, the results show how harnessing the cation stoichiometry can be used to design oxide heterostructures for advanced optoelectronic synapses and neuromorphic applications.

AIM: This study aimed to examine whether cumulative exposure to hypertriglyceridemia is associated with an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes in young adults. METHODS: The study included 1,840,251 participants aged 20-39 years who had undergonefourconsecutiveannualhealth checkups and had no history of type 2 diabetes. Participants werecategorized into five groups (exposure score 0-4) based on the frequencies of hypertriglyceridemia diagnosis over a four-year period. The primary outcome was newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes. Exploratory analyses were performed for the different subgroups. RESULTS: During a follow-up period of 6.53 years, 40,286 participants developed type 2 diabetes. The cumulative incidence of type 2 diabetes significantly increased with higher exposure scores for hypertriglyceridemia (log-rank test, P < 0.001). The multivariable-adjusted hazard ratios for incident diabetes were 1.674 (95 % CI, 1.619, 1.732), 2.192 (95 % CI, 2.117, 2.269), 2.637 (95 % CI, 2.548, 2.73), and 3.715 (95 % CI, 3.6, 3.834) for participants with scores of 1-4, respectively, compared with those with an exposure score of 0. CONCLUSIONS: In this large-scale prospective cohort study of young adults, cumulative exposure to hypertriglyceridemia was significantly associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, independent of lifestyle-related factors.

The present study examined the underlying mechanisms of mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia induced by the intracisternal injection of angiotensin (Ang) II. Intracisternal Ang II injection decreased the air puff threshold and head withdrawal latency. To determine the operative receptors for each distinct type of pain behavior, we intracisternally injected Ang II receptor antagonists 2 h after Ang II injection. Losartan, an Ang II type 1 receptor (AT1R) antagonist, alleviated mechanical allodynia. Conversely, PD123319, an Ang II type 1 receptor (AT2R) antagonist, blocked only thermal hyperalgesia. Immunofluorescence analyses revealed the co-localization of AT1R with the astrocyte marker GFAP in the trigeminal subnucleus caudalis and co-localization of AT2R with CGRP-positive neurons in the trigeminal ganglion. Intracisternal pretreatment with minocycline, a microglial inhibitor, did not affect Ang II-induced mechanical allodynia, whereas L-α-aminoadipate, an astrocyte inhibitor, significantly inhibited Ang II-induced mechanical allodynia. Furthermore, subcutaneous pretreatment with botulinum toxin type A significantly alleviated Ang II-induced thermal hyperalgesia, but not Ang II-induced mechanical allodynia. These results indicate that central Ang II-induced nociception is differentially regulated by AT1R and AT2R. Thus, distinct therapeutic targets must be regulated to overcome pain symptoms caused by multiple underlying mechanisms.

This study's purpose is to examine the effect of employee experience on job satisfaction, psychological well-being, and organizational commitment among corporate employees, with a specific focus on three factors: physical, technological, and cultural experiences. Given the growing importance of mental health management for employees, the study investigates the relationship between employee experience and mental toughness. A structural equation modeling research model was designed, and data were collected through a survey of 534 Korean employees. The analysis results show that cultural and physical experiences have a significant impact on organizational commitment, while technological experience does not have a significant impact. Furthermore, the study identifies that employee experience positively effects organizational commitment through job satisfaction and psychological well-being as mediators. It also reveals that the effect of employee experience on organizational commitment varies depending on the level of mental toughness. The findings suggest that managing employee experience can increase organizational commitment by improving job satisfaction and psychological well-being. Therefore, it is essential to be aware of individual mental toughness and its development. Hence this study highlights the importance of considering the physical, technological, and cultural experiences of employees in enhancing their well-being and commitment to the organization.

Long-lived photoinduced conductance changes in LaAlO3/SrTiO3 (LAO/STO) heterostructures enable their use in optoelectronic memory applications. However, it remains challenging to quench the persistent photoconductivity (PPC) instantly and reproducibly, which limits the reversible optoelectronic switching. Herein, we demonstrate a reversible photomodulation of two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in LAO/STO heterostructures with high reproducibility. By irradiating UV pulses, the 2DEG at the LAO/STO interface is gradually transformed to the PPC state. Notably, the PPC can be completely removed by water treatment when two key requirements are met: (1) the moderate oxygen deficiency in STO and (2) the minimal band edge fluctuation at the interface. Through our X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and electrical noise analysis, we reveal that the reproducible change in the conductivity of 2DEG is directly attributed to the surface-driven electron relaxation in the STO. Our results provide a stepping-stone toward developing optically tunable memristive devices based on oxide 2DEG systems.

Importance: Because type 2 diabetes (T2D) has become increasingly prevalent among young adults, the study of the association of T2D with psychiatric disorders in young adults is important for early detection and timely intervention. Objective: To determine whether a diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder is associated with increased risk of developing T2D in young adults. Design, Setting, and Participants: This large-scale prospective cohort study used data collected by the South Korean National Health Insurance Service between 2009 and 2012, representing 97% of the South Korean population. Young adults aged 20 to 39 years with and without diagnoses of psychiatric disorders were included in the study. Young adults with missing data and those with a history of T2D were excluded from the study. The cohort was followed up to monitor development of T2D until December 2018. Data were analyzed from March 2021 to February 2022. Exposure: Diagnosis of 1 of 5 psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, and sleep disorder. Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcome was newly diagnosed T2D during a follow-up period of 7.59 years. The incidence rate of T2D was calculated as the number of new cases per 1000 person-years during the follow-up period. The Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to estimate the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% CIs for T2D incidence. Exploratory analyses were performed for subgroups stratified by age and sex. Results: In total, 6 457 991 young adults (mean [SD] age, 30.74 [4.98] years; 3 821 858 men [59.18%]) were followed up, including 658 430 individuals with psychiatric disorders. The cumulative incidence of T2D differed significantly between individuals with and without psychiatric disorders (log-rank test, P < .001). Incidence rates of T2D for individuals with and without psychiatric disorders were 2.89 and 2.56 per 1000 person-years, respectively. Individuals with a diagnosis of any psychiatric disorder showed a higher risk of developing T2D than those without a diagnosis (adjusted HR, 1.20; 95% CI, 1.17-1.22). The adjusted HRs for T2D were 2.04 (95% CI, 1.83-2.28) for individuals with schizophrenia, 1.91 (95% CI, 1.73-2.12) for individuals with bipolar disorder, 1.24 (95% CI, 1.20-1.28) for individuals with depressive disorder, 1.13 (95% CI, 1.11-1.16) for individuals with anxiety disorder, and 1.31 (95% CI, 1.27-1.35) for individuals with sleep disorder. Conclusions and Relevance: In this large-scale prospective cohort study of young adults, 5 psychiatric disorders were significantly associated with an increased risk of developing T2D. Young adults with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in particular were at a higher risk of T2D. These results have important implications for early detection of and timely intervention in T2D for young adults with psychiatric disorders.

Filamentary resistive switching in oxides is one of the key strategies for developing next-generation non-volatile memory devices. However, despite numerous advantages, their practical applications in neuromorphic computing are still limited due to non-uniform and indeterministic switching behavior. Given the inherent stochasticity of point defect migration, the pursuit of reliable switching likely demands an innovative approach. Herein, a collective control of oxygen vacancies is introduced in LaAlO3 /SrTiO3 (LAO/STO) heterostructures to achieve reliable and gradual resistive switching. By exploiting an electrostatic potential constraint in ultrathin LAO/STO heterostructures, the formation of conducting filaments is suppressed, but instead precisely control the concentration of oxygen vacancies. Since the conductance of the LAO/STO device is governed by the ensemble concentration of oxygen vacancies, not their individual probabilistic migrations, the resistive switching is more uniform and deterministic compared to conventional filamentary devices. It provides direct evidence for the collective control of oxygen vacancies by spectral noise analysis and modeling by Monte-Carlo simulation. As a proof of concept, the significantly-improved analog switching performance of the filament-free LAO/STO devices is demonstrated, revealing potential for neuromorphic applications. The results establish an approach to store information by point defect concentration, akin to biological ionic channels, for enhancing switching characteristics of oxide materials.

Even though the regenerative potential of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) has been extensively studied, there is a debate regarding their minimal therapeutic properties. Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) are involved in cartilage metabolism, chondrogenesis, and bone healing. In this study, we aimed to analyze the role of genome-edited BMP-2 overexpressing amniotic mesenchymal stem cells (AMMs) in a mouse model of collagen-induced arthritis (CIA). The BMP-2 gene was synthesized and inserted into AMMs using transcription activator-like effector nucleases (TALENs), and BMP-2-overexpressing AMMs (AMM/B) were sorted and characterized using quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). The co-culture of AMM/B with tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α-treated synovial fibroblasts significantly decreased the levels of interleukin (IL)-34. The therapeutic properties of AMM/B were evaluated using the CIA mouse model. The injection of AMM/B attenuated CIA progression and inhibited T helper (Th)17 cell activation in CIA mice. In addition, the AMM/B injection increased proteoglycan expression in cartilage and decreased the infiltration of inflammatory cells and factors, including IL-1ß, TNF-α, cyclooxygenase (COX)-2, and Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) in the joint tissues. Therefore, editing the BMP-2 genome in MSCs might be an alternative strategy to enhance their therapeutic potential for treating cartilage degeneration in arthritic joints.

BACKGROUND: Metabolic syndrome is associated with type 2 diabetes and its prevalence is increasing worldwide in young adults. We aimed to determine whether cumulative exposure to metabolic syndrome is associated with type 2 diabetes risk in young adults. METHODS: Data of 1,376,540 participants aged 20-39 years without a history of type 2 diabetes and who underwent four annual health check-ups were collected. In this large-scale prospective cohort study, we evaluated the incidence rates and hazard ratios (HRs) of diabetes according to cumulative frequencies of metabolic syndrome over 4 years of consecutive annual health check-ups (burden score 0-4). Subgroup analyses were performed by sex and age. RESULTS: During 5.18 years of follow-up, 18,155 young adults developed type 2 diabetes. The incidence of type 2 diabetes increased with burden score (P < 0.0001). The multivariable-adjusted HRs for type 2 diabetes were 4.757, 10.511, 18.288, and 31.749 in participants with a burden score of 1 to 4, respectively, compared to those with 0. In subgroup analyses, the risk of incident diabetes was greater in women than men and in the 20-29 years age group than the 30-39 years age group. The HRs were 47.473 in women and 27.852 in men with four burden scores. CONCLUSION: The risk of type 2 diabetes significantly increased with an increase in the cumulative burden of metabolic syndrome in young adults. Additionally, the association between cumulative burden and diabetes risk was stronger in women and the 20s age group.

Along with bisphenol-A (BPA), conventional phthalate esters (PAEs) have been reported as environmental hormones, despite their functional usefulness as plasticizers. Nevertheless, they are frequently found in various products, including children's utensils and toys made of poly (vinyl chloride). This is tremendously important because PAEs are harmful to infants. In addition, gel/slime-type toys made of poly (vinyl alcohol) are currently popular for developing infant' tactile senses. In this study, we developed a method to qualitatively and quantitatively detect PAEs in gel/slime-type toys mimicking, infants playing with them in a bathtub. As a result, 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid diisononyl ester (DINCH), one of the PAE alternatives, transferred into the water from the toys and was detected most commonly (108-719 µg g-1; 0.01-0.07 wt%) among PAEs. The detected DINCH levels were below the universally accepted levels for PAEs (0.1 wt%). However, the amount of DINCH detected could still be toxic, in accordance with toxicity tests using water fleas. Furthermore, unpleasant odors were emitted when the toys containing toxic volatile organic compounds were unpacked. This is the first study to develop a method to analyze PAE in gel/slime-type toys and determine that alternatives to conventional PAEs cannot be unconditionally regarded as safe chemicals. Therefore, the revised standards for regulating PAEs and their alternatives must be reconsidered.

With the advance in information technologies involving machine vision applications, the demand for energy- and time-efficient acquisition, transfer, and processing of a large amount of image data has rapidly increased. However, current architectures of the machine vision system have inherent limitations in terms of power consumption and data latency owing to the physical isolation of image sensors and processors. Meanwhile, synaptic optoelectronic devices that exhibit photoresponse similar to the behaviors of the human synapse enable in-sensor preprocessing, which makes the front-end part of the image recognition process more efficient. Herein, we review recent progress in the development of synaptic optoelectronic devices using functional nanomaterials and their unique interfacial characteristics. First, we provide an overview of representative functional nanomaterials and device configurations for the synaptic optoelectronic devices. Then, we discuss the underlying physics of each nanomaterial in the synaptic optoelectronic device and explain related device characteristics that allow for the in-sensor preprocessing. We also discuss advantages achieved by the application of the synaptic optoelectronic devices to image preprocessing, such as contrast enhancement and image filtering. Finally, we conclude this review and present a short prospect.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer in Korean American (KA) women. In view of its high prevalence in these women, their low screening rates, and the cultural influence of BC risk factors in their lifestyles, we developed a community-based culturally tailored BC prevention program, the Korean Breast Cancer Risk Reduction Program (KBCRRP). Guided by the PRECEDE-PROCEDE and health belief models, the KBCRRP was developed to achieve four goals: (1) healthy weight, (2) physically active lifestyle, (3) healthy diet, and (4) BC screening and adherence. KBCRRP combines effective multicomponent strategies for BC screening and a group-based lifestyle intervention incorporating traditional Korean health beliefs and is tailored for BC risk reduction. In this paper, we provide an overview of the program, the process of program development, implementation, and evaluation, and modification during the COVID-19 pandemic. The initial program involved 8 weeks of in-person group education sessions led by interdisciplinary healthcare professionals and 16 weeks of follow-up involving smartphone applications, phone calls, and text messaging from trained lifestyle coaches. Participants received opportunities to obtain free mammography during the program. After feasibility testing, the program was modified by incorporating participants' feedback. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided the program using the Zoom video platform. Participants' recruitment and retention during the pandemic was successful, reflecting the fact that virtual delivery of group-based education was a feasible and acceptable alternative to in-person sessions. Collaboration with community organizations serving the target population is the key to developing and sustaining a successful community-based educational program.

Among plastic items, single-use straws are particularly detrimental to marine ecosystems because such straws, including those made of poly(lactic acid) (PLA), are sharp and extremely slowly degradable in the ocean. While paper straws are promising alternatives, they exhibit hydration-induced swelling even when coated with a non-degradable plastic coating and promote effervescence (fizzing) in soft drinks owing to their surface heterogeneities. In this study, upgraded paper straw is coated with poly(butylene succinate) cellulose nanocrystal (PBS/CNC) composites. CNC increases adhesion to paper owing to their similar chemical structures, optimizes crystalline PBS spherulites through effective nucleation, and reinforces the matrix through its anisotropic and rigid features. The straws are not only anti-fizzing when used with soft drinks owing to their homogeneous and seamless surface coatings, but also highly water-resistant and tough owing to their watertight surfaces. All degradable components effectively decompose under aerobic composting and in the marine environment. This technology contributes to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water).

This study examines how shop managers' attitudes toward customers are transferred to sales employees, and thus affect customer performance. We surveyed shop managers, sales employees, and customers in five department stores in Seoul, South Korea, in June 2021 to determine the relationships among service orientation, customer orientation, customers' perceptions of sales employees' authenticity, and customer performance. We found that sales managers' service orientation positively influences sales employees' service and customer orientation. Furthermore, this orientation positively correlates with customers' perceptions of sales employees' authenticity, thereby improving service performance and customer loyalty. Few studies have examined how institutional-level capacity and attitudes influence employees within organizations and how this, in turn, affects service performance. Thus, this study theoretically and empirically explores how sales managers' attitudes and sales behaviors are transferred to sales employees and how this affects customer performance. The research findings fill a gap in the current understanding of customer performance in the service industry.
